Sweage release issue resolved

After complaints were filed with the Association, a second meeting was held today in Bharat Nagar near the house of Mr. Yadav who was accused of releasing sweage water onto the road.

Mr. Yadav has graciously agreed to do his civic duty by: (a) Draining the soak pit as soon as it fills and, (b) Start excavating the soak pit so as to deepen/reset the pit.

All those who were present including Mr. Yadav, Mr. Sainath Desai, Mr Sayed, Mrs. Vaidya and others agreed that the solution was acceptable to them. Mr. Yadav had already emptied the soak pit two or three times in past 15 days.

From the committee, those present included our President Shri Santosh Desai, Mr. Surendra Naik, Mr. Sagar Toraskar, Mr. Valmiki Nayak, Mr. Monish Metti, Mr. Yadvesh Gonge and Mr. Ganesh Lamani.

Traffic jam issue resolved

Today at 6:45 p.m. we had meeting with the pediatrician who runs the clinic at Aman colony. Meeting was called due to haphazard manner in which her patients were parking their cars and that too on both side of the road.

Doctor said she receives between 1,000 to 2,000 patients per month. So one can imagine not only the congestion created and also the danger involved.

Suggestions to resolve the issue included putting up notices, requesting her patients to park their vehicles inside the compound or, behind the building in the open space, use only one-side of the road for parking, hire parking attendant and so forth. The association has decided to wait a week and see if the situation improves.

As per letter written to the Panchayat on 20-Feb-2020, the Panchayat yesterday passed a resolution accepting our request for uniformity in the fee for collection of garbage. Accordingly, Ward No 1 of which Vidyanagar is part of, will now have to pay only Rs 50/- per month instead of Rs 150/-. On behalf of all the members, the Association expresses its heartfelt thanks to the Panchayat for reducing our bill to 1/3rd from 01-Jul-2020.

Installation of transformer

Project Electric Transformer (Sidharth Colony): On 15-Jun electrical engineers visited and examined proposed location. Yesterday (17-Jun), Sidharth colony meeting was held to fix precise location for the transformer (problem areas: ppl not wanting transformer in front/next to their homes due to various reasons, some trees might have to be cleared, ground prepared etc.)

Finally, all was settled and it was also decided to erect a wire barricade around the transformer. This will have to be done by us so, it was decided to seek contributions from the residents of Sidharth colony.

The above will serve as a test case for installation of transformers in other colonies.
