Johnson rescued a python from a gutter along the Vasco-Cortalim highway. Next day, while still in the gunny bag, he found it had laid 22 eggs. But after a week the mother python tried to escape and so he released it into the wild. Meanwhile, he played surrogate mom and eventually (after 54 days), 17 healthy baby rock pythons were born. The next all 17 baby pythons averaging 30 cm each were released into the wild with a hope that at least some will survive.
