Drawing competition judge Miss Priya Alphonso receives a token of appreciation from the organizer Shri Santosh Desai.

If it's a drawing competition, the judge has to be Miss Priya Alphonso. She spectacularly won Karnataka State level drawing competition at age of just 6 beating much older candidates. She is Ex Mount Litera Zee School arts teacher and currently is a well known professional artist.

Prize distribution function for the drawing competition held on 15th Aug 2023

Our Panch Shri Santosh Desai organized a drawing competition for kids up to age of 12 on 15th August 2023 at Vidyanagar Goa. The prizes were distributed on 27th Aug in the Airway Public School, Vidyanagar. Chief guest was Shri M. R. Naik.

Drawing competition organized by our Panch Shri Santosh Desai

On the occasion of India's 77th Independence day, a drawing competition was organized by our Panch. The competition was for two age groups: Up to 5 and 6 to 12.

'Meri matti mera desh' and Van Mahotsav celebrated in Vidyanagar.

Our Panch Shri Santosh Desai celebrated his 1st anniversary as a Panch by organizing 'MERI MAATI MERA DESH' and a Van Mahotsav at Suryanagar colony of Vidyanagar. The function was attended by local residents as well as the NSS unit of MES College.

Anti-Mosquito fogging conducted in Vidyanagar by Panch Shri Santosh Desai

Jul-Aug 2023 were Dengue months. There were many dengue positive cases throughout Vidyanagar. So, Panch Shri Santosh Desai liaised with the health department to organize Anti-Mosquito fogging at the affected locations.

MES College road repaired by the Panch!

Something had to be done: MES College road was dug and left unrepaired by govt. contractor. There was too much red tape to get them to repair the road. Instead of waiting forever, our Panch Shri Santosh Desai approached Mr. Kamath (on his left) of Puravankara, Goa who gladly provided a cement truck and labor to repair the road. Job done!

New badminton court inaugurated at Mother Theresa Colony of Vidyanagar, Dabolim Goa

Sponsored by Shri Gurupad Parsi at a cost of Rs 98,600, and Shri Gajanan Palankar (Rs 5,000/-); the construction was supervised by Shri Mohan Shet, Piraji Daulatkar, K. S. Patil, M.R. Naik and Rajaram Patil.

Local Gowrakshaks honored.

Whenever cattle are injured, catching them for treatment and putting them onto a truck is not just difficult, it is also dangerous. But these local Gowrakshaks do it with great dedication and free of charge. Vidyanagar has benefited numerous times from their service. They also clean religious sites and conduct many social programs. Yesterday these Gowrakshaks were honored by the Panch Shri Santosh Desai for their service and dedication to animals and society.

Talk on Rheumatoid arthritis.

Thanks to SMRC and Innerwheel Club for conducting a highly successful program on Rheumatoid arthritis. Dr Chandra Bhushan Prasad explained the disease and answered many questions. The program was conducted at the office of the Panch Shri Santosh Desai.

Pre monsoon Gutter cleaning 2023

The Panch Shri Santosh Desai inspecting the ongoing pre-monsoon Gutter cleaning work currently in progress in Suryanagar. The Panch has assured that gutters in all colonies will be cleaned before the monsoon begins.

Road inspection by PWD Engineer

The Panch Shri Santosh Desai and the PWD Engineer (roads), jointly inspected all roads in Vidyanagar. The engineer assured help in repairing the roads at the earliest. However, the gas pipeline contractor has still not completed all work in Vidyanagar. Road cutting is still in progress at several places.

Leveling of park at Aman Colony

The Panch Shri Santosh Desai put 35 big trucks filled with soft mud inside the park at Aman Colony and leveled it. The rocky ground has now been fully covered so children can play safely.

Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule's birth anniversary celebrated by honoring 25 teachers.

The birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride. His work and ideals were remembered and in his name, 25 teachers from Sancoale were honored.

Non-functional traffic signals

A meeting was held by the Panch Shri Santosh Desai with RTO, PWD and other officials at the MES Junction. It seems the electrical staff while repairing the streetlights, accidentally shorted and destroyed Rs 1.5 lakhs worth of circuit boards of the traffic signal. The traffic signal maintenance staff are awaiting govt. instruction re: damaged circuits. All efforts are on to expedite the replacement and restart the traffic signals.

Jal Vayu road cleaned up

After residents on Jal Vayu road complained of the mess left after the last road dig, the Panch Shri Santosh Desai got hold of the contractor and got the place cleaned up.
